KGA Seeking Educators to Attend 2017 National Geographic Summer Institute

The Kentucky Geographic Alliance at WKU is seeking two middle school educators to attend the annual National Geographic Summer Institute in Washington, D.C. The Institute will begin on the afternoon of June 24 and continue through the end of the day on June 28.

Attendees must fulfill the following requirements to be selected:

  1. Both educators MUST be from the same school
  2. Both educators MUST teach middle grades (6-8)
  3. 1 teacher MUST be science/social studies and 1 teacher MUST be a library, media, or technology specialist
  4. Both teachers MUST agree to a 1-year commitment with National Geographic, which will consist of completing NatGeo educator certification, completing a project with the school and submitting deliverables, and assisting with professional development based on this project in 2018

Attendees will receive a stipend from National Geographic for their 1-year commitment.

Hotel accommodations and meal expenses will be provided for by the KGA and National Geographic.
